Kilpatrick invites you to watch “The Cost of Inheritance” – a PBS documentary that discusses the importance and possibility of repair and racial justice. The one-hour film looks at many of the ways that people have been conceptualizing and addressing reparations at the individual and institutional level.

Featured among the stories in the documentary is the experience of our pro bono client, the Quarterman family. Kilpatrick has been representing this family for several years, seeking to clear title and gain access to land the Quarterman family inherited from an ancestor who had been enslaved in South Georgia.

Several Kilpatrick attorneys appear in the film to discuss the work they have done during the past few years, which you can find at the 38-minute mark.
